It's a tall order but you *did* ask...
Nice to see you here, Heavylight!

I'd like a universal contact manager showing presence that can be accessed by any other application (so I wouldn't need to use any *other* phonebook, email contact manager etc) and integrates closely with a multi-network instant messenger.
It would be good if it could show the time last accessed and location for each contact, either on a map or by town/city/region (a la Jaiku almost managed).
I think it's a bit out of scope our current development but in future... who knows. Back to details, LDAP support (means read only access to contacts from Outlook or Thunderbird) is coming soon. Also we're discussing Open Social (http://code.google.com/apis/opensocial/ ) support but it's not decided yet.

Did I mention that I'd like it available on my desktop *and* as a client on my phone? And none of this "offline" business: it's got to be permanently connected (via gprs, 3g or wifi depending what the application detects is currently available). Could it also monitor my 5 email accounts to alert me when something arrives?
I'd also like to select my presence status from user-definable presets such as "Driving Handsfree" (which will reply to any sms or im with a message explaining that I can only answer voice calls right now), "In the pub" (set all ring tones very loud and don't expect a sensible response) or "Sleeping" (no contact whatsoever unless you're in my 'very nearest and dearest' contact group.
And if you could incorporate all that into something like GrandCentral (currently US-only!) then that would be wonderful...
Thanks for tip, we'll check their features.

Am I asking for too much?
ps. Congratulations on such a nice product with significant development potential.
Thank you again for great feedback! I'm really impressed

Isn't that 'phone takes precedence' sync illogical and dangerous?
If an existing user connects to the bloove server with an empty contact list, couldn't it be assumed that the sync MUST work the other way?
Good point. I think we'll change this behavior, all removed on the phone contacts will be moved to contact archive by default.

After several internal discussions we decided to implement LDAP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LDAP) support instead of custom protocol. This allows to use a lot libraries for various programming languages and enables read only access to your contacts from several popular email clients such as MS Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird.

Thank you for report, now it takes up to 3 minutes to detect if phone went offline, we'll look into this issue in future versions.
Please report other inconsistencies if any.
Thanks,

Hello, we're thinking to add something like this http://code.google.com/apis/documents/developers_guide_protocol.html
But it will be available for beta testing in the beginning of December, please let us know if this type of API looks convenient for you and if you're willing to beta test it.
Thanks,
Ros
