When opened on the phone, the text becomes read and the time is set to the current time and the text is actually sent. That means, until I discover this and open the texts, they are not sent.

I probably shouldn't, but if I had to guess, I'd say that it's related to a combination of going stand by or losing internet connection while bloove is running on the phone and then it enters some kind of invalid state.
